Gallisteo, New Mexico
Wandering the blue highways of New Mexico, I side trip from the Turquoise Trail to Galisteo. The rain puts a damper on my photo walk, and it’s a spot I’d like to revisit sometime to photograph the pueblo ruins and shells of old houses in the tiny town.
I had not realized until my visit that there are a lot of expensive homes in the Galisteo Basin, and it has been an artist’s community for decades. Within the lattice of coincidence, Wikipedia’s list of notable Galisteo residents includes artist Susan Rothenburg, whose painting Four Color Horse is in the permanent collection of the Crystal Bridges Museum, the subject of yesterday’s post.
Love the monochrome photo with the cross, Marsi! Great work!

I love your photos, Marsi, especially the first one and the black and white one with the cross leaning in. 🙂

Thank you so much, Cathy! I love that photo too. I wish I had taken more film photos of that cemetery. The lighting was tough that day!

You’re welcome, Marsi. Sometimes lighting can be such a challenge. Or poor weather conditions. Enjoy your weekend!

Haven’t been to Galisteo, but New Mexico is such a cool state! Nice pics!

Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed them! New Mexico has my heart. I’ve spent a total of a month wandering the state (4 different trips) but can never get enough. I just pet-sat for some neighbors who were in ABQ/Santa Fe last week, so of course after seeing their pics and hearing about their experiences, I’m so ready to plan another NM trip!

Love the results of film photography! The contrast and sharpness are so nice.

Me too! I really prefer film over digital. If film processing weren’t so expensive, I would shoot a lot more of it :-). Thanks for stopping by my blog. Yours is beautiful, and I look forward to seeing more of your photography!
